General information about toroidal transformers

Toroid's higher efficiency compared with laminated type transformers can save up to 50 % in weight and size. This helps to simplify the design of housings, mechanical geometry, and mounting configuration. It suits to the trend for smaller, more compact electrical and electronic products.

Different to conventional E/I lamination types, toroidal transformers use high quality grain oriented steel which are utilized at almost a 100 % in all areas of the core. There are no air gaps which means a non-load current draw of about 10 % compared to stacked lamination constructions.

The windings are distributed over the entire core circumference which reduces the mean length of copper wire per turn, achieve a very low emission of stray magnetic fields or EMR (Electro-Magnetic Radiation) and increase the coupling factor to almost 1.
If the application requires a zero magnetic stray field we supply our transformer encapsulated in a magnetic shielded housing.
Our transformers are designed for 50-60Hz applications. For high frequency applications we use other ferromagnetic materials (Ferrite, Iron Powder, MPP, High Flux, amorphous tape wound cores etc.).

Our transformers are:
Small size, low weight, low-noise in operation, low EMR, stay cool, powerful, individually designed and reasonable in price.
Short delivery times are self-evident.

Samples according to all international standards are available within a few days.
